As a local full time resident, I’ve witnessed firsthand the devastation brought by Hurricane Helene. Areas of our community have been hit hard, with flooding and damage stretching across homes, businesses, and landscapes. Yet, amidst this destruction, we stand united in our determination to rebuild and restore what we’ve lost.

The response has been swift, with rescue operations ongoing and much-needed supplies arriving to support the affected areas . Local and federal agencies are stepping up, with over $20 million already allocated to assist survivors and aid recovery efforts . This support is vital, but the heart of our recovery will be in the hands of the community.

Neighbors helping neighbors is what will truly bring us back. We’ve already seen countless stories of heroism and compassion as we navigate these challenging times. While it won’t be easy, our strength and resilience ensure that we will rebuild—stronger, together.

I believe in this community, and I’m confident that, with hope and collective effort, we will overcome this and emerge even better.
